So we know both from somewhat rigorous studies and just from experience that women (and probably nonbinary people, though they were not explicitly included in the study) are better software engineers than men. But why is that? Survivor bias because we have to be twice as good just to get any recognition at all? Toxic masculinity making men worse at programming? Combination of the two? Something else entirely?

@morganastra I'd argue a mix of both with other factors such as societal hardwiring for attention to detail (specifically how detail impacts those around a thing).
