Was poking about, and if I give up the base natural armor, use a trait on it, and spend a feat later, I can have three different colors of scales with game mechanics. (In this case some energy resistances and either a free language or a bump to survival) Poison dart kobold has acquired bright colors. Do not eat poison dart kobold, as poison dart kobold tastes frickin' terrible. Poison dart kobold needs a name yet.
