Wait...so a "locked" toot goes to everyone who follows YOU...and there's no version of the more conventional privacy model where a list of accounts YOU chose sees the post?
@starbreaker But the list has to be typed (or pasted, I suppose) in each time, right?

@VinnieTesla yeah, i know people have been wanting visibility options like 'mutuals' or 'people *i* follow'
possibly related, it would be nice if i could allow people to follow just my public toots. i guess having custom lists for visibility could accomplish the same thing
@bunnyhero Yeah, it's an odd model of privacy where you don't ultimately have any control over who sees your post.
@VinnieTesla Look closer. You have four options:
1. Public: Everybody sees it, and it shows up in local and federated feeds.
2. Unlisted: Like Public, but doesn't show up in local and federated feeds.
3. Followers-only: Only your followers get to see this.
4. Direct: Only people you @mention get to see it.
If you only want certain accounts to see it, "Direct" is probably the mode you want.
