Is it bad form to block people immediately who are obviously already thinking about commodifying their social capital on here and are clearly churning out jargon-riddled content so they can be "thought leaders" or is that encouraged?
@SuzanEraslan I think if someone is posting things you know you don't want to see you should block them. Don't feel bad about wanting filter silly bullshit.
@SuzanEraslan im a toot leader
@SuzanEraslan the thought leadership thing.. I reckon a lot of early adopters are analytical types whose main way of saying "I'm so happy with this new thing" is to go "bleh bleh bleh jargon". And there's a lot of early adopters here.
@SuzanEraslan why block them? just sit back and laugh at them. lol.
@SuzanEraslan
I'd guess "officially" it's up to the individual instance but, personally, I'll be blocking them... life's to freakin' short for that nonsense and honestly it's why I'm getting a little tired of the "other" site.
The social aspect of social media has been getting lost in the urge to broadcast and market every idle thought.
Let's all talk instead :)
@Emperyan So glad to hear someone else feels that way. I honestly am exhausted by the "here's how to monetize your personal brand" crowd, but then I remember when I saw my first corporate website at 15 or 16 and was bummed out about the end of the internet. It was for Juicyfruit, which I've thus never purchased.
@SuzanEraslan this is a free world, treat it as you wish
