@Gaypow @thefishcrow back when I arrived in April so many people were pissed to see French in their timelines that it intimidated me into tooting almost exclusively in English

I remember how unsafe and loud and rude folks were being about a French wave
And it’s these waves the pushed for the language filter
I’m glad it helps some folks but it’s origins are rude
