Tip: if you're going to advertise your thing as 'new members welcome, just turn up!' maybe put up some kind of instructions so new members know what we're supposed to do when we get here.
It turns out a banner saying 'new members welcome' above a table means 'new members should sit at this table and await further information'. I don't see how anyone can infer that because 'new members welcome' is merely a statement; it doesn't convey any kind of instructional content. You have to somehow guess what the person who put up the sign was thinking of. This is exhausting.
@Inskora I honestly find stuff like this so anxiety inducing, Would it kill them to just be a bit more specific or give more information? Kinda feels like there are a load of invisible rules that no one bothers to explain :-p
