@blueminder Power Rangers?
Yeah, no.
@Samizdata No, yeah.
Yeah, no. I still have PTSD from taking my little brother to see the original movie.
@Samizdata I must confess, I dragged my parents to that movie as a kid, and I will pay dearly for it on my karmic ledger.
@Samizdata If you look at the themes of the movie, it was really about the ennui of suburban American life, and how consumerism acts as a false promise to fill that void. Appropriately enough, they also sold action figures about it.
@Samizdata It also had the greatest line in any movie ever uttered on screen: "What is that odious stench? Smells like... teenagers."
@blueminder I was a teenager once. I did NOT smell.
@Samizdata It was definitely more about the delivery than the statement's accuracy, I do have to say.
@blueminder Like some dude named Ooze should be hygeineshaming.
@Samizdata He probably just smelled the nervous years of puberty on the characters. It has a distinct aroma to an ancient being.
@blueminder Kind of surprised you didn't go for a "Smells like teen spirit" reference.
@blueminder :shrug:
I got nothin'.
