I had this idea yesterday... basically conversations that work like a GIT repo... you can fork or branch conversations at any time, have the whole history, but still see it separate, so it doesn't get confused.
I often have multiple conversations going on in the same live chat. (Discord, IRC, etc). It could solve that, maybe?

@awkward well yeah, but as a live chat. on-the-fly. no page reloads. Basically I'd like to have a live chat and threaded forums at the same time. I think the real issue is keeping it managable...

I was thinking of being able to zoom out an see where different conversations branch, with their topics (or most common words or something)
