So lets be clear here...
The end game for mastodon is Pirate/Troll instances in their own little blocked network.
There is no way this will not happen, and I would actually call this the most accurate success metric.
We will know we have won when we have a healthy ecosystem of trolls... in a separate network... in a box... far away from me.
@spiderrobotpig It might be a messy process at first. I think some people are hoping this will remain a liberal wonderland.
@NthTensor I mean, there are already spaces that are "pro-freeze peach". So they just need to be ostracized and then if they try to get into different instances, just permaban them, I guess? I don't computer well
@NthTensor we're not all bad. Not my fault they take my good name in vain.
@NthTensor i partially agree with you; but for now i see mastrodon as a free haven which i can just have fun
@tristan I see it that way too, and soon, so will the trolls... therein lies the problem.

Though mastodon is still a fledgeling network, I think we should have a plan for when harassment becomes a problem. Because it will become a problem. Maybe sooner than we expect...
@NthTensor my hope is that the local mastodon/admins will be able a maintain a safe and fun environment for all since this is not meant to be a punblic platform.
one can only hope though...
@NthTensor er, I guess I meant public in the wrong sense; mastrodon is public in the sense that it's open source, but each local instance can enforce their own ruleset as needed.
Hopefully this will allow people to create little pockets of groups that are protected by their beliefs, but as a whole, will act as what Twitter functions as
@NthTensor @tristan not a punblic platform?!
but we need puns #freepunspeech
@NthTensor Not too far...🙃😬
@NthTensor So wait, trolls can't pay Mastodon to bypass blocks?
@twitter It is a novel idea, but I am sure you will get the hang of it!
I tweet from the bird-site itself! This is an honor.
@NthTensor I'm so confused.
@NthTensor I definitely assumed that was the point tbh
