just realized (at the very end of the series) that the new legends of monkey on netflix is a different telling of enslaved: odyssey to the west, which is one of my favorite underrated video games...doh!
@MissSnarkerson Both the show and the game are retellings of a classic Chinese novel called JOURNEY TO THE WEST. :)

@MissSnarkerson One of the bands Naomi was into in Silent Clarion, SEITEN TAISEI, is also a reference to Journey to the West. It's the Japanese form of one of Monkey's titles: "Great Sage Equal to Heaven". :)
