@filkerdave bwahahahaha... IT has scheduled a complete data center shutdown and upgrade for this weekend, from midnight tonight. What could possibly go worng?
@filkerdave well except for the person who was supposed to be my contact onsite bringing up the cluster in the exact reverse order specified in the procedure, requiring manual intervention to remedy, there was only the following panic among users as 36 hours of pending task submissions hit the cluster all at once, and ensuing cries of "why isn't my job running right naaaaaaaow???" & "can't you kick (insert some other user here) off so my job will run?", it only took 24 hours longer than planned.
@MightyBigCar Only 24 hours? I'd call that a win!
