My long point is: there's a lot of distinction to be made inside of advertising, marketing, and sales.
There is room in the space for ethical behavior in advertising and marketing, and there are ethical people inside that industry. The giants make it bad for the few of us trying not to be shit, and I have to use their tools to survive.
But Prometheus stole fire from the gods, and now they're all fuckin dead so you know what there's hope after all.

Shit, I write blog posts for the company website too. But despite this, I'm not ramming consumerist bs down anyone's throat.
I don't harvest emails and sell it for a profit. I encourage people to opt-out if they don't want to see our emails anymore. I spend half my time trying to decipher our information to come up with ways to reach our ideal buyer persona without resorting to google-styled invasiveness.
I like what I do. I'm good at it.
