@jason Oh that's a lot nicer than mine. https://octodon.social/media/KcX4tWQi4nrLK1W1Rzw
@jason It helps a lot yeah. I was planning on walking into my managers office and quitting the same day they offered me a position. They beat me by a handful of hours.
@Mainebot and has staying on proven to be worth it?
@jason So far. My new contract only kicked into effect on the 1st, but I went from an hourly rate to a salary, and I'm making about twice as much.
Of course, it's an absolute shitshow now. The department went totally sideways and is being run basically in a flat management configuration with me, the writer, and a graphic designer.
It's chaos.
@Mainebot hopefully the chaos will be entertaining and not a detriment to you 😄
@jason It would be wayyyyy more entertaining if I didn't have a responsibility to try and succeed.
The silver lining is that in a few weeks, once the owner and the CPO both lose interest in managing us directly, we'll be operating carte blanche as long as we get results.
@Mainebot not bad. The tradeoff is uncertainty around where I’ll end up and what distractions will get in the way, like the idiot on his phone across the aisle. I’m craving certainty these days.
