Just had an interview for a Technical Service Delivery Manager role. Within a few minutes I found out 1) there was no people management, 2) there was no delivery/release management, 3) it was basically a tier 1 support job.
Why the fuck would they do that.

It stands for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit. And it's a scam. We designed it so the gov't would give employers massive amounts of cash in exchange for hiring very targeted people based on numerous factors.
Then we marketed to all types of business to implement in their hiring process (in the form a general questionnaire), & sold it as a win-win for "special" ppl who couldn't otherwise find decent work.
But... it backfired on those qualified 🤷♀️

I can't even get a job at McDonalds, because I'm "overqualified", mostly because - they want those damn tax credits for hiring uneducated poor people with disabilities.
How many times do I have to smack my head against the wall before *anyone* will hire me?
Side note: In the US - "tax credits and incentives" - are a loophole for employee hiring discrimination. I know, because I used help build/implement & market the WOTC program.
