So how does this work? Why do you follow people if everyone pops up in the Federated timeline anyway? Or does not everyone?
@saturno Oh that is cool then, thanks!
@Lohenglamm you are welcome
@Lohenglamm The Federated Timeline is roughly the people followed by people on your instance. If no one follows anyone, it's the same as your local (instance) timeline.
Also, the Federated Timeline keeps becoming more of a firehose as my instance grows...I subscribe to individuals to keep a readable Home stream that interests me.
@HedgeMage Ah, thanks!
@Lohenglamm people you follow show up in the "Home" timeline, if you want to ignore the Federated. Federated is going to get unusably busy as the system grows, anyway. Can you imagine trying to read the equivalent on Twitter? They don't even offer that feed anymore it's too big.
@potentato Heh, well I follow a lot of very profilic tweeters over in the bad part of the internet, so I'm used to the firehose effect on Tweetdeck. The Federated TL made me feel right at home since nobody in it is a Nazi :D
@Lohenglamm questions that need answers.
@TheTrunkMonkey If you click my original post a bunch of people did start to answer :O
@Lohenglamm I think that federated is everybody that anyone on your instance has followed. It might be a bit much to keep up with.
@brendan Yup, got a lot of responses saying something similar. Thanks!
@Lohenglamm People you follow will pop up in your "Home" tab
