Hey so...is there an app for this? 😂
@Lexialex I use "Amaroq". Seems okay.
@pettter @Lexialex Twidere is pretty nice too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mariotaku.twidere
@Lexialex If you’re using iOS I can recommend Amaroq or Tootdon. The former is more lightweight / minimalistic, the latter has more features.
@Lexialex i just have the page shortcut on phone screen for now while looking for the best app
@Lexialex Hi! welcome 😀
I can personally recommend Twidere, which lets you have Mastodon and Twitter accounts in one app. This one is for Android.
Another good one for Android is Tusky.
For iOS the best one is Amaroq.
You can find them, and others, in this official list: https://github.com/tootsuite/documentation/blob/master/Using-Mastodon/Apps.md
@Lexialex This is a useful thread now, because I've just been using the default Mastadon app like some kind of loser when there's apparently a bunch of cool other ones?!
@Lexialex Hello and welcome! I hope you enjoy your time around these parts.
As to apps, I'm on Android and have used Tusky and Subway Tooter. The latter has more of an "intended for power users" feel and might be overkill.
@Lexialex First thing I did was look for it. No luck. 😂
@Lexialex using amaroq on iOS here. :)
@Lexialex I am working on one for iOS, which will be the best one. (Unfortunately, it is not done.)
@Lexialex (An old preview here: https://mastodon.social/@WAHa_06x36/15719806)
@WAHa_06x36 You know, I'd be interested in how you did the underground map-like thread lines. I think we could use that in our UI too...
@Gargron Oh, you definitely should! I can give you access to the code to look at it, but be warned, I have written code that is easier to understand than that particular one.
I'll happily help you puzzle through it though. Do you have a bitbucket account?
@Gargron (I mean, part of the reason I am making this is so Mastodon can steal some ideas from it!)
@Lexialex for iOS, there's amaroq, tootdon and a few others. I know there are apps for android, but I don't use that so I can't name any.
@Lexialex wondered as well... opened this page on my mobile browser and voila - got an icon which now starts.. mastodon! directly. looking good. app? no idea. looked for one & found too many, was confused & gave up.
oh, i'm on Android btw
@Lexialex
I'm using Mastalab on android, it's on f-droid (an independent app store for free/open source software)
@Lexialex
Hiya. Yes! I have been using Mastalab. So far, I like it.
My #recommended #app is the free #multiaccount #Mastalab #Android client by @tom79 is an excellent #timeSaver after many improvements and updates over the last months.
It also comes with sober #permission requirements (see screenshot below), local db #bookmarking feature, AND built-in #multilingual direct (1 tap) #translation by #Yandex.

@Lexialex I’m iOS and I found one that works for me but look through this thread, many good suggestions
@Lexialex Hey Lexi! Long time, no see. Tusky is what I use.
