is it just me or people just hang up at the end of work calls? i'm now more surprised when people say goodbye or a variation of it than when they don't.
@Iuckyduck Yes, maybe it’s not that drastic in my experience, but once people have got what they want, they tend to end their calls as quickly as possible, even if they sound brusque.
Unfortunately work phone calls are not treated like personal calls, in which making the other person feel good (especially if they’re a loved one) is often considered to be valuable.
@Iuckyduck I always feel I should; it's not just politeness but pragmatism to bracket the call and cue the other person to hang up or asking for any other info they need (contact email, times to call back etc).
@Iuckyduck if there’s more than a critical mass you can do that; my usual call is like three-six people and we usually end with “later,” “adiós,” or “take care”
