My husband insists I put away all the nearby dishes before dumping a change of fishtank water into the sink because of "splashing". I'm pretty sure I can survive a droplet of fish water. I mean, they are fine with it! I'm pretty sure I can even eat the damn fish and be ok. He was a bit mortified by that idea. I don't think it was a good way to try to make my point. The "splash" danger has also been applied to washing meat and aerosols of poop from flushing the toilet. It's all bogus.
@Idoubtit Oh oh do you have more info on aerosolized poop? I've been meaning to look into that.
@annakoop I don't know that it's really a thing. If it is, it's not worth worrying about. Who gets sick from brushing their teeth because it has a few poop molecules on it?
@Idoubtit Yeah it seems like we might have noticed by now if it were a serious health hazard? But it keeps popping up in news and family (don't use your smartphone in the bathroom! Hide your toothbrush!)
@annakoop Exactly. I think we can tolerate quite a bit of it and do just fine. We have lots of natural mechanisms to protect us.
@Idoubtit ugggh, on one hand yeah you'll definitely survive and not even get sick, but on the other hand - that's fish toilet water, that's yucky
