It's bittersweet to see bands that I've followed and featured on Open Metalcast get signed to major labels.
On the one hand they're awesome enough to get the attention of the labels.
On the other hand they tend to stop releasing their material under a Creative Commons License.
Feh.
@craigmaloney it's sweet to see bands grow up and become successful. My wife got me tickets to see a band here in October of a band I worked with back home oh so long ago in the 80s. the pain of having to pay for their music is lessened by knowing that you are helping feed them, and with the backing of a big label they can afford better mixing and pressing of the music.
