Visiting @nev’s neighborhood in my forest ecology classes. We’re covering disturbances, including insects. This being Forestry, of course we’re focusing on pests, some that incur minor or cosmetic damage, and a handful that incur major damage. This cutie below is one of the latter.
I’ve been loving the sketches I’ve been doing in my journals. They wouldn’t pass scientific standards, but I enjoy them and the process. Journaling like this suits my learning style.
@nev Are these are the critters with wingless females? That is completely new to me. 😮
I’ve never tried hard to classify insects, at least not to the level I do with plants, so this is a new way to engage with them. Glad you know a cousin (that’s strangely satisfying.)
