I saw this setup on r/unixporn and the OP was saying that they're on Mastodon. I hope they're on cybre.space because the "windows 95" theme would be on point for them 😁 (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/82idv4/xfce_my_friends_on_irc_and_mastodon_were_telling/)
(also if this is your desktop, hi!)

(to be fair, I _think_ macOS is still customisable to some extent, I've seen some ppl installing custom WMs on macOS + still modifying the look of the UI, but it's become more and more dangerous to do so (+ it's very easy to softlock your OS if you mess up (I did, a lot)), same for Windows, but the whole "scene" is not as big as it used to be when I was 16 tho D: )
@Eramdam this is the main reason I moved to Linux tbh
Everytime I see a dope setup on this subreddit, I kinda miss the times where mainstream OSes were easily customisable. I've spent sooooo many hours tinkering with Windows XP's and then macOS's UIs.
Even made some themes back in the days.
Looks like Linux is the only place where this is actually possible/supported, too bad I highly depend on macOS for most of my activities ><
