@DistroJunkie There’s a windows box that takes up space on my desk at work & I don’t think it even declares how long it might take... and it reboots itself at random with updates in the middle of the day all the time. Thank god I don’t use it for actual work (It has our ink mixing software on it but that’s it).

@Devils_Rancher I don't have those problems because I'm a Linux snob. I am, however, the IT Dept. at home and all of them insist on using windows. So I am still stuck with it.

@DistroJunkie Ugh, it told my kids & my wife that if they wanted tech support, they’d have to get macs, that if they got windows they were on their own.

@Devils_Rancher I tried that and you see where it got me. The biggest problem is that the local institution of higher learning has an IT Dept that is a windows only shop. They won't even tolerate use of LibreOffice suite in windows.

@DistroJunkie That bites. My daughter bought a 2010 MBP right before heading for college & it got her all the way through. Still runs even though it looks like she played baseball with it. I’m pretty sure she’s stuck with Windows at Lockheed Martin, but they have their own tech support staff, I’d guess. 😄
