If you don't have a "selfie-stick", then prop up your camera (and double-check the correct angle & lighting) + you can use your headphones to to snap a photo from far away. Otherwise, set a timer and strike a pose! Props help, as does natural interaction with natural things.
The more natural light, the better. And don't be afraid to be yourself, having fun during the process. More photos = more choices. Really... Just have fun with it!

I think the biggest hurdle for "shy" people like myself... is to hand over the camera to someone else. Give yourself something to enjoy, whether it be a fake flower or something new... They'll definitely capture your spirit and joy without even looking at the camera. It's just... natural :)
@Averly that's so much workkkkkkk. I mean I guess I got an OK picture this weekend when my wife took one of me and my youngest kid but I don't always want a kid in the pic, you know?

Try to NOT plan and just focus on the moment. I think you'll be surprised with the results 😊
@Averly It's funny, I used to be a photographer, and completely agree. I fucking HATEEEEE posed photos and requested that we had none for our wedding. they're so fake and not the way to capture life.

Absolutely. Anything forced is guaranteed to capture an insincere experience.
I mean, if jumping around a pond with frogs is your thing... it can also be beautiful!
