Unless they are under suppression, it seems Jews have no interests in persecution and discrimination.

Ahmed FASIH @22

@Kurohitsuji Or too little, leaving us confused at what you mean. Many Jewish people in America and in Israel (and elsewhere I'm sure, these are just where I'm a little bit familiar with) are activist progressives, and join the rest of us in condemning hateful and unjust actions everywhere. I recall this image becoming famous recently during the US administration's misguided anti-Muslim travel ban. octodon.social/media/3CEVMpMDk

@22 You are right. I like this image.

@22 I must accept that I don't know much about Jews and we are not familiar with them. I apologize for making you feel uncomfortable.

I said that because I saw the news that some oversea medias pointed out inadequate behavior or outfits in our pop culture. Those news are what we know about them.

@Kurohitsuji Do you mean, you saw some Jewish or Israeli media report negatively on Japanese pop culture?

I can see why might think Jews were intolerant if that was the case.

@Kurohitsuji But… I am a big fan of Japanese culture (both pop and traditional culture). I am always sad to see how frequently international media publishes articles like "Look how weird Japan is!", sometimes several times a year, whenever they don't have anything else to say. These articles are always stupid, badly researched, and nobody takes them seriously. I hope the articles you saw in the Israeli or Jewish media were like this—just bad journalism, and not a reflection of the culture.

@Kurohitsuji Also, you don't have to apologize to me 😆, I am unfortunately not Jewish but I am sensitive about this right now because recently in USA there has been a lot of Nazi activity, where dangerous idiots are talking about murdering all the Jews, like in World War 2. Nobody says Israel is a perfect country, but a lot of ignorant people are attacking Israel or Jews just for being Jewish, and that's very scary and dangerous.

@Kurohitsuji Jewish people are just like all other people, just like Japanese or Indian or American people. But I think most Jewish people are very concerned with tolerance and understanding because the Nazis killed so many of them in World War II. Just how Japanese people are very passionate about anti-nuclear weapons because they remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

(Now, Israel has done some really bad things, and the UN has condemned them, but we have to separate a people from a government.)
