This episode is specifically about the Cuban Missile Crisis, which seems like it's hardly acknowledged anymore despite being a potentially world ending event (only time to date the US entered DEFCON 2).

It only promotes us v them mentalities on all sides of the fence. Ignoring it won't make it go away. Bias runs through generations and many of the words we say and choices we make are affected by it. We inherit it from our upbringers and it's important to expose it and teach our own offspring about bias. Time alone can't heal wounds or scars.

When we think about or discuss issues of class, race, or gender equality, it is vital to try to find any implicit bias we may have. It's easy to try to personalize and exclude people by what we observe, but it's our own implicit bias versus the centuries of emotional oppression imposed by society.
Listening to people's experiences and respecting their perspectives is half of the way in fighting the social injustice prevelant across the world. Ignoring it only internalizes and amplifies emotions

Now that the server seems to be fully functioning (cert renewal and all), it may be a fun project to pick up. It also would be nice to have a decent-sized project that is outside of work. I'll start building the docu over the next week.

So many summer releases, it's hard to keep up: Alt-J, Fleet Foxes, Arcade Fire, Moonchild, Lorde, Phoenix, and probably some others I'm forgetting

Well, if I move from an RHEL instance to an Ubuntu instance, it has newer versions of OpenSSL and Apache anyways. I could get the features I wanted. So, yay? As long as it works, but if it doesn't it's not like I'm at a loss.

Tried to set up letsencrypt for renewal today (something I've been putting off), but apparently it doesn't like manually upgraded OpenSSL.

I reverted Apache and OpenSSL and it still gives the same error. So, copy all configs, data, and keys and try to put it on a "fresh" instance, I guess?
