Still wanting to write that Risk-as-a-web-service/app but Hasbro owns the license for Risk, which explains why the old website my family used to play on disappeared. Why do licenses like this exist? Why?

@yetitaxxi You might want to avoid naming Risk altogether, and also have at least one difference between your ruleset and Hasbro's. Games such as Lux Delux seem to be doing OK, so this might be enough to keep their lawyers at bay.
@jkb Yeah, that's probably what I'll have to do. I'm not well versed in law at all to know what's legally circumventing the license.
For instance, would excluding the whole meta of territory cards be enough to be considered different? I'll probably draw up my own regions anyways.
