@pzmyers some of my in-laws are actually on a trip right now to see the Creationist Ark Museum thing that you toured and reviewed on your blog. *facepalm*. I have no words to describe how much I disagree with them. 😕

@pzmyers my interest in the movie cooled when the trailer hinted at more storyline overlap with original movies. Why so much plot copying?! I loved the originality of Rogue One! I want more movies like that! An amazing universe to play in! Instead they reboot old plots with a Vader Wannabe! *meh*

@stillinhere My experience is pretty similar. I did not fit in with the small English-speaking Buddhist group that I spent some time with for a while. Most of my social interaction involves board gaming, RPG, or online games w/ voice chat.

But I find myself feeling isolated most of the time, without a community to fall back on if I need the help. Just a few isolated friends which are well-meaning, but not the same as the all encompassing almost cult-like “church family” I grew up with.

@stillinhere I know it’s a weird thing to ask, but are you atheist? (Or more precisely, active in a church?)

I’m atheist. Intellectually i can’t stand a church’s teachings and being a part of that, but I miss the socialization and community.

That’s why there has been more talk regarding atheists creating their own organizations that provide that social & community aspect.
