@bootjack Given it's from Union Carbide, my guess would be early manganese dioxide/zinc alkaline. But it's possible that it's zinc-carbon I guess? dunno.
@wohali almost certainly much older than 30 years. I'd say older than 50.
@MightyBigCar I remember the logo from when I was a kid...that's why i said 30, but I probably should have said 40.
Remember that graphic design in Canada severely lagged behind that of the US for a long while.
I do think they are alkaline batteries, though.
