Another white water lily, I like the effect of the drops on the leaves.

More water lilies. I just learned they are also called "white nenuphars", a suitably grand name.

There is a little loch in the Rothiemurchus forest called the Lilly Loch, and this is the time of the year when the waterlilies are out.

Loch Morlich is a large (several km2) loch close to Aviemore. It has a beautiful sandy beach and great views -- and seagulls.

@eloisa This one is for you. A black-headed gull in the Cairngorm mountains.

Cairngorms postcard view with cottongrass :)

View from the hill named Meall a' Bhuachaille to the south-west.

I won't make the obvious comment ^_^
This is part of the path ascending the hill named Meall a' Bhuachaille.

This flower has the delightfully Tolkienian name of "asphodel".

This is the view inside the actual pass. "Lairig" means "pass" in Gaelic. The "Ghru" part is apparently derived from the name of the burn in the picture, the Druie.

This is the approach to the Lairig Ghru, probably the best known hill-pass in Scotland. What I like in particular is that it is 10 km from the nearest road.

The flowers on which the butterflies were sitting in my previous post. It's called cat's ear.
