Two tree pics from last week's walk, a tall beech and a magnificent oak.

In the middle of a conifer forest there stands this gnarly old dead deciduous tree. I don't know if it was dead before the forest was planted, or died because of lack of light.
I'd never seen it covered in mushrooms like this before.

Some kind of parasitic plant on the beech tree, I presume.

@fitheach Yes, some kind of ivy, you can just see the leaves in the top left corner.

Ivy with a very lanceolate leaf. I've never understood why ivy plants in the same species can have different shaped leaves. Not cultivars, something else, I think.

@fitheach I have no idea, I was using "ivy" as a layperson ^_^
