Some more pictures from the Cairngorms. This is Lochan Uaine, the "small green loch". So called obviously because of its amazing colour.

Here are some big skies. Looking out over the Abernethy Forest, although most of the trees are long gone.

The veils you see coming down from the clouds are hail showers. I quite prefer them to rain showers, cold as they are.

It may look bleak but I love this scenery.

This is the Lairig an Laoigh, the "pass of the calves" which skirts the eastern edge of the Cairngorm plateau. The cows were taken of the Lairig Ghru, which is a much higher pass, but shorter.

An interesting geological detail in this pass, a type of terrace, I guess the result of glacial activity.

This was actually a beach holiday. Loch Morlich has it all: sandy beach, boating, ice cream, great views over the mountains. And hail showers.

@wim_v12e hhhhhhhh god rayssssss yessss, yummy lighting

Wow I miss those beautiful Scottish valleys. 💚

@gaab Scotland is a beautiful country, but that part is to my mind the most beautiful. No wonder it is now a National Park.

@wim_v12e Unfortunately I've only been once in Scotland so far, but definitely want to go back someday. I hope that time I can do some actually hiking as well :) So many beautiful places there to see.
