Man, SQL is an idiosyncratic mess. Seems like there's a lot of opportunity for innovation in relational database application interface.

#vim tip: if you're writing #CoffeeScript or otherwise need to make your code harder to read on a per-file-type basis, you can change the indentation size for specific file types with this one-liner:
autocmd Filetype coffee setlocal ts=2 sts=2 sw=2
@astrumsystema /r/programming is the worst. I prefer HN; there's still some zealotry, but it's mostly well-informed and I usually learn something from those who criticize $MY_LANG. Ironically, /r/programming hates #golang as much (or more than) #PHP or #JavaScript. Apparently it's impossible to build a program without statically-typed generics or ADTs (unless your language is dynamically typed, then it's ok).
@astrumsystema http://bitbucket.org/weberc2 or http://github.com/weberc2. Lots of incomplete projects; not sure how exemplary they will be.
@McKael Ouais, je l'ai vu, mais c'est incomplet. :/
@McKael je vois. C'est ce que j'ai imaginé. Je voudrais trouver un lib pour OStatus en golang.
@McKael what is the API? Is it the same as or a subset of the OStatus protocol that the nodes use to intercommunicate? Or is it different?
@astrumsystema I'm happy to help. Feel free to send any other questions my way as well.
@astrumsystema *struct *mem *allocs Autocorrect can diiiiieeee
@astrumsystema golang programmer here. Go lacks ADTs. It makes me sad, but then I just create a strict with a tag field and move on with my life. You can also use an interface if you like. Different Mem characteristics (wasted stack vs unnecessary allows); both are a fair bit of boilerplate.

Just realized my phone autocorrected protip -> proto.
@awilfox @argumatronic he shouldn't have to apologize.
There is a difference between calling on somebody publicly and resolve a matter privately. Especially when it's about interpretation.
As much as you have the right to say what you want, I have the right to tell you, you're wrong about the joke.
@argumatronic @awilfox all I see is people getting offended by a joke...
I'm not saying that the position of women in the field is good, or that it shouldn't be defended and discussed. But the joke wasn't about that. Please people, stop pushing your agenda on jokes.
You want a discussion about women on the field and the rampant discrimination that goes with it, fine I'm more than happy to participate. But not here, not with this quote as base.
#battlefield1 proto: use the assault class with the Hellriegel primary weapon. More damage per second than most other weapons and no recoil, its basically an automatic sniper rifle. Plus the assault kit can easily solo a tank (anti-tank rockets, mines, and grenades). If you don't like the Hellriegel, take any shotgun for a 1 hit hill under 20 or 30 meters with a good rate of fire.
@luke_nukem @rust Good point.
Never mind. The documentation exists on Google Code; apparently GC didn't shut down entirely, everything is just read-only. My difficulty was that the documentation linked into files in Google Code, but the links were all broken, so I assumed the documentation had been taken down.
Still casually trying to reverse engineer Mastodon. Apparently it implements the Salmon Protocol, but half of the documentation for SP is hosted on the now-defunct Google Code. I can't find mirrors or contact information. Anyone have any ideas?
