What is it with programmers (or maybe just Reddit programmers?) and language zealotry? Like, I understand that it's a thing, but I'm really surprised that I got attacked for saying in a question about language idioms that #golang has a non-expressive type system and using a #rust example to show what I was struggling with. Like, what the heck?

@astrumsystema /r/programming is the worst. I prefer HN; there's still some zealotry, but it's mostly well-informed and I usually learn something from those who criticize $MY_LANG. Ironically, /r/programming hates as much (or more than) or . Apparently it's impossible to build a program without statically-typed generics or ADTs (unless your language is dynamically typed, then it's ok).
