I'm currently working on an article about the pan-Asian response to Taiwan's ruling on same-sex marriage and I'm looking for people - especially LGBTQ women & non-binary people - from across Asia to interview. (I'm including ex-Soviet Bloc/Eurasia in this, such as Armenia, Cyprus, or Georgia.)
I'm especially looking for people from Brunei, Bahrain, Afghanistan, and Bhutan since finding them has been tricky, but anyone from any Asian country works too.

Decision made (kinda) for me: my phone took a long time to update, so there's no way I'll be home in time to get to swim practice.
I mean, I already swam once this morning. Am I actually tired or just making excuses?

Man, I wish I could tell the difference.
My big decision of the day: go to an evening swim practice, or just head home and be happy that the week is done.
I hate missing practices that I've sort of rolled into my schedule, and I've only done evening practices for 2 weeks now, so it feels like I'm bailing out and being weak. But on the other hand, I'm TIRED, man. I may need to skip just so I can have enough energy to ride my bike this weekend.

Welp, I just spent an hour refactoring my emacs config files so that the paths are a little more agnostic so I can change perforce branches when I need to and it'll reformat all the paths I need.
But I haven't tested it in actual operation, so it'll either work great or 100% explode right in my goddamn face woo
New phone on the network means a new flower name. This time it's Alcea, the genus of hollyhocks. This is to replace Cabomba, whose battery had gone bad. I'm posting this from Tithonia (tree marigold or Mexican tournesol).

I had that thing last night where you wake up at 3:30 to pee, and then when you go back to bed you feel like maybe you never got back to sleep at all.
I'm pretty sure my cat purred me to sleep eventually, though, so I''ll count my blessings there.
Last night I went to a birthday party. I got to talk to nerds and drink really nice scotch and it didn't kill me. I even stayed until it was too late to take the metro home so I grabbed a Téo—it's an Uber-ish service run by a taxi company here, but all their vehicles are pure electric. It was pretty sweet.
Can I just say that Chelsea Manning's hair stylist is very good at their job?

Why is it so hard to use the web interface to filter out a hashtag? I have no problem filtering out normal words, but trying to filter out all the #io17 toots simply doesn't work. Huh?

I can't believe it's just Tuesday ™
I'd like to be able to change my local timeline to a different instance's local timeline without changing my instance. Like, I seem to be following more people from witches.town, and I'd like to see what's happening over there without sifting through the federated timeline.
It's not even about whether I like the content, per se, just how to manage limited time.
