Something that was obviously going to happen: when spring shifts in some places, the animals that depend on a specific timing find it hard to survive. Spring is changing at different rates in different places.
I saw next to no #FollowFriday posts yesterday.
I think a lot of users are still stuck in birbsite mode where they are acting like the communities and connections are already built.
#Mastodon needs #FF posts more than birbsite ever did because of the Federation.
We have to share more if we want to build good stuff. Boost more. @ more. Growth will happen but not without the work.
I descended Houde and climbed back up. In that time, someone on a bike needed an ambulance at the top of the mountain.
I kept riding, but seriously, it's not because I just love road bikes so much. It's because I love cyclocross that much, and it's coming. (Cross is always coming.)
So I went out on my road bike, just by myself, with no computer or anything.
It sucked, guys. I hated it.
Seriously, riding a training ride in the city with no way except perceived exertion to meter yourself is dull as hell if you're competitive. It's days like this that I miss having a mountain bike and a place to ride it. Training without feeling like training.
You can't just go out and see the sights and enjoy a road bike in a city like Montreal. There's no inherent joy of riding here.
Also I got a new fountain pen yesterday. It cost me $3.50 and took six weeks to get here from Hong Kong, but it's actually pretty nice.
