@chalcedony so this was a gift, and I didn't even pick the colours. I'm so stoked.

But ALSO: one of the pens I'm using is a Jinhao x750. Got it off eBay for $3.50 cdn which includes shipping. Totally bonkers. And the pen writes really well! Stiff nib, no line variation, middling build quality, hard to post: who cares. Lays down a good line and I have no qualms about inking it up. :)

Like, this is a green ink, but it has these little red fringes. I can hardly wait to get this into one of my really wet writers.

Émeraude de Chivor is not a well behaved dip nib ink, though. It flows so fast and so unexpectedly. It'll take practice. But it dries so beautifully.

I am absurdly tired. Not sleepy, but that sort of weariness that makes it hard to concentrate or care or whatever

@Damage Hah, this is like some sort of coffee super-power. If I did that I would feel a sense of impending doom. I wouldn't actually be having heart palpitations, I would just THINK I was, which is almost worse.

@hauntedlatte I can get by on 6, if the 6 are quality hours of sleep. 7-8 makes the day doable, and I can get out of bed relatively quickly. 8+ is nice and I barely complain at all when I'm up at 5 to go to swim practice. (I still complain, though.)

@kitkendrick My Dad used to use them to scoop up bugs, or make lists on them. I think I still have a small stack of them.

Interestingly, my last relationship that ended was really good, but I don't ever remember her giving me any music to listen to.

I have received word that I have a shipment coming as a present, and I think it might be a pen I was really wanting, but even if it's just ink and paper I'm 1000% stoked.
