what I mostly meant is that Tumblr's discourse around the term is very hostile, and some people are very angrily misinformed about what the term is, and others are angry that some people have mixed histories with the term and don't want to use it

in general I prefer it to alphabet soup but also respect people's negative experiences with the word as well. I probably come off the wrong way
