SO: The Plus Library has security issues, also it uses the imperial system for torque which is non-standard
OP: I don't want a big library for a small task
SO: well if you're not willing to adopt a well-tested library, you're not much of a programmer.
SO: Are you going to show some code or what?
OP: Oh, I found out by asking a human being. Thanks!
SO: what was the solution to your problem? I have the same issue but with 3’s
OP: <disappears>
TOPIC CLOSED BECAUSE TOO OPINIONATED
OP: What's 2 plus 2?
SO: In what context?
SO: It would help if you tried first and gave some sample code
OP: I have two cats and two dogs and I wish to solve for total animals
SO: Just count them one by one, it's more general
OP: Well I would but I have the numbers 2 and 2 because one routine returns cat count, and the other the count of dogs
SO: Use The Plus library <github repo link>

This past weekend I wondered where all the cooperative, collective, and capitalist-adjacent responses to basic infrastructure were, and mastonauts sent me down an internet hole on open source design, manufacturing, and appropriate technology.
Let me share interesting links with you..
#np The Meters — Jungle Man, cuz DAMN
Oh and I forgot about #fluxus, which is quite striking.
If you're interested in #scheme and/or #livecoding, you might want to check out #impromptu. I still like my Csound, but Impromptu is pretty fun to mess with, has graphics routines, and it doesn't have the most-awkward-key-combination-ever-conceived: "=>" 🤣

I just wrote the 3rd episode tutorial about the LTE/Wifi router project.
This episode deals with traffic filtering, traffic routing and VPN. I tried to explain how to choose a VPN provider - hard task indeed.
Feel free to comment!!
Here is the 3rd chapter of the tutorial https://0x39b.fr/post/pi_router_story/#episode-3-route-the-traffic-through-a-vpn

I have an infinite bottle of #beer . It started with a little sourdough beer recipe, and I decided to just treat the beer itself like starter.
After I drink it, I put more sugar water into the bottle and let the yeast have at it again for about 5-10 days. Seems to work out, but next time I'll see if I can transfer the mother to a different sanitized bottle before refilling with sugar water.

I am starting a small project meant to create a small, cheap and secure LTE/Wifi router you can bring with you everywhere.
This router is based on a #PiZero, #Debian, #OpenVPN and probably #Tor.
The main motivation is to help people to take the control of the hardware they use.
So, if some of you wants to build an LTE/Wifi router from scratch, have a look to the introduction I wrote https://0x39b.fr/post/pi_router_story/
Comments and advices are appreciated.
A fun install of OpenElec on the #rpi3 consumed my day, but what a glorious thing it is.
I think #OpenElec comes with a kernel driver for using an IR sensor through the GPIO; maybe I'll google a bit cuz it'd be sweet to hack up an old remote with it (unlike the BBB whose timing jitter just snorted at my attempts).
