However, see pic. This happens on any display mode switch (sleep, change login, etc.) and effectively breaks my system. I looked it up, and it seems like this bug plagues the #linux kernel since 2 years ago at least...

I really do not want to go back to Ubuntu 😒

@upside It might be a issue with your graphics card. Which driver are you using? The open or closed? Read up on KMS if you haven't https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Kernel_mode_setting
