#America, it's great you love visiting Belfast as tourists. I do find it funny though how many want to find out about our awful "troubles" which killed 3,600 people over 30 years.

@curtomil living in Belfast it's a rare delight to hear another dialect never mind language lol. I really miss big cosmopolitan areas too. I think that's what I like about this app... there's something great about the lack of algorithms and "ai" that turned twitter into an echo chamber.
@curtomil personally I like it, feels more international - like sitting on a bus somewhere like London. Good to be reminded of my own inadequacy of knowing only English.

The fear-mongering against #mastodon by other commercial entities with regards to #verified #status, #trust, etc., is reliant on end-users being absolutely reliant on trusting those same entities in their verification process.
We need end-users to become less reliant on commercial trust and more savvy on trust-less principles.
