A friend of mine is going to school to be a DBA and is worrying about money, so he's considering a part-time job doing freelance #programming or #consulting. He's a good programmer and problem solver, but doesn't have professional experience in it.
Anyone have any pointers or resources I can pass on to him? Could this work? What's a good way for him to get started? How can I help him? I'm a professional programmer but have never really done freelance work.

Hey everyone! I'm new here. I'm a programmer who used to draw a lot, and I'm working on a multi-user digital painting web app. It's pretty much gonna be like GIMP or Krita but in a web browser.
It's called egaku and it's free software on a AGPLv3 license.

Hey friends, I'm looking for a development job in or near Austin, TX, or Remote.
I have experience in Rust, Elixir, Ruby primarily, but I've also worked in Python, Elm, Java, C, and C++, and have knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL.
Here's my github: https://github.com/asonix
If you could boost this around, that would be super cool.
If you can boost, that'd be great: I'm still looking for work (Can't seem to find anything and it's killing me) I do freelance work and I'm looking for a job that's tech-adjacent at least.
I am compent with SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, Python(mostly 3, but I can do 2.7) and UI/UX Design. Also good at research, and non-fiction writing
Freelance or Full-time or Part-time work is fine. Need something.
