I do stuff sometimes. Teaching, research, data analysis, sometimes write a song or write a thing. I keep busy. What do you do? Why?
When you finish the @#$%ing project that's haunted you for months and you realize that you can't rest; now you have to go fix all the other problems you've neglected while doing the project.
TFW you just got done grading a paper, and now you have to start another one.
@upside I think there's a song called "something yellow taxi(cab)?" But like I said, I know very little about Joni Mitchell. She was far too "counterculture" in my home as a kid. :)
#ChelseaManning is an apt symbol for this generation. She's trans and military. She cared more about truth than loyalty, and was the most public victim of a massively popular "liberal" president who waged an all-out war on transparency. Her final victory, hopefully joyful for her and her loved ones, is Pyrrhic; she was not pardoned, so she is still branded a criminal. Even her release was an act of political expediency and compromise, not morality.
@upside Joni Mitchell? But if I'm right, that's all I've got; I don't know much of her work.

@maliciarogue I am overjoyed for her. And still disappointed in the weasel president who punished her severely and publicly (and maybe illegally) to intimidate other potential whistleblowers, then left her in prison until the last politically expedient moment and released her without a pardon.
It's wonderful she's finally free, but it would be nice if the president hadn't slapped a "fuck you" sign on her back as she leaves prison.

@fascists_exe I'm pretty sure that cronut would kill pretty much anyone, eventually, without regard to political orientation.
Things TV shows need to stop already:
1. Serial killers: there aren't 5,000 serial killers per midsize nation. And some of us are really sick of the cliches.
2. "Multiple personality disorder." For that matter, you should probably just stop doing "mental illness" until you get a few clinical psychologists to explain why your plots and characters are stupid.
Okay, just two things for now, but those are pretty big. TV quality, overall would increase, like, 23%, if you just cut those out.
