Been a long and strange couple of weeks out there in the real world. So i've been neglecting my online life.

@starbreaker I use a mix of things, usually whatever is a good deal and as there was turkey mince on offer I thought i'd give it a go. I saw somebody post a thing on facebook about adding meatballs to a curry so i decided to experiment. Have to say it worked pretty good. Used the mix for the kebab marinade [off my blog thing] in the meatballs and made a sort of rogan joshy fruity sauce for the veggie part of the curry.
I'll make a note of using worcestershire tho because normally i wouldn't

Turkey meatballs with morroccan spices and a potato, spinach and mushroom curry. Surprisingly good. I'll be currying turkey balls again

@Stonekettle She's lovely. So is the other one. They'll have such a good life with you.

@Boudicca @Starling
It's not far off, the dates go into a mush and with the malt it makes it kind of sticky and gooey. I'll try adding some brandy next time that's a good idea.

@divineeris
Oh my word.
Gosh.
Well yes

I guess I know what i'm doing tomorrow then. I wonder if there are any swedes around to help me?

@divineeris

Sort of half way between. It's cooked in a loaf tin and you can slice it and butter it or have it like cake. It's a bit fragile for sandwiches but I guess if you really wanted you could make a cream cheese butter cream and .... oh god.. going to have to go for a lie down now.

@divineeris
I have an unholy passion for cinnamon rolls.

Date and pecan loaf being made right now and the flat smells amazing.

@Starling
Have an 'offical' birthday on a day of your choosing. That way you get to have two birthdays. And if it's good enough for the queen....

@Starling It's remarkably easy and it freezes well which is why I do it in the smaller tins rather than one big tin. I do it in half pound tins too, just reduce the cooking time a little if you do that.

@Starling It's kind of malty and fruity. A half way between cake and malt loaf.

@Starling I might expand the definition a smidge and start with date and pecan loaf though.

@Starling Oh gosh I almost missed that. Better make sure I get cake. Lots of cake.

@koogrie @calyanare

I had leek and potato soup and a wrap with Italian sausage. There may be cookies as well.

@koogrie @calyanare

I think you've earned a stiff gin and tonic.
