Saturday. Not much happening. Working as usual. Learning more about #programming. Waiting to go home and hoping sleep doesn't get too hard so I can do some #mailart.
#Art. The only thing that kills my #nerves. The only remedy for when I'm #blue.
@Kdvr I started with Perl just for curiosity, but changed to Python. I'm learning in a very slow process because I have no one teach me, except internet tutorials, and I have no projects to work. But I'm enjoying it so far.
@tiphra nice! i love python. Let me know if you need tips. I am a PHP developer but "know" more languages! A good excercise might be a maze solver in a language of your choice. It teaches you many techniques of that specific language and you can compare between them.
@Kdvr Nice. :)
A maze solver? Where do I start?
Maybe I'll try PHP one of these days. For now python is teaching me a lot about how things work. 🙂
@tiphra well you could use an image from http://www.mazegenerator.net and use that as base. And use the wall follower algorithm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maze_solving_algorithm#Wall_follower
So you need to find out:
How to read an image and detect white and black pixels.
Make that information iterable like an array.
Loop through it and find the solution.
Show the maze and solution on the console using plain ASCII.
Google for code examples. Sounds daunting but is fun!
@Kdvr Thank you very much. I might explore that later. ✌
@tiphra there is also https://www.codingame.com for learning new languages
@tiphra curious, what are you learning about programming? any specific language?
