@sxmb Really love this photo. It's easy for this style to veer towards oversaturated, hyper-real colors, but you kept it more muted and that works great.
Trying to have a quality thought about popularity and growth on here but honestly uh I don't have much to contribute to that?
Maybe all the people on here who haven't been donating to their server can start pitching in a dollar here or there now that they're the old users, to help cover the added load of the new users. Asking people who just signed up to contribute is poor manners.
Ask your admin how you can help. Maybe they don't need it, but I bet they do.
I often overlook that after 4 years of an expensive university, one of the first things my roommates and I did was to sign a contract for DSL that cost about $140/month.
2 of us were sharing a bedroom, yet we spent that much on early Internet access. And yet we called AOL a walled garden.
@gcupc @hhardy01 @ajroach42 @LogicalDash There’s also an entire generation of tech missing from this argument. The people who did those things could afford the high technical and monetary costs of doing them, mostly by paying University tuition. That internet was a walled garden, and it was Early ISP’s that broke the walls down and, in the process of monetizing the internet, democratized it.
Facebook replaced AOL (and MySpace).
So I now own an #Xbox and #Overwatch and I'm absolutely terrible at it but will play it constantly and screw up both work and school.
It's like I really did just revert to my college days...
@srol Oh man, that takes me back. Haven't been to that Micro Center in about 15 years. I don't think any of those places were there back then.
I am very disappointed that Tim Berners-Lee's wiki page does not currently say "may have invented the web".
Superorganism is exactly what I need in my life. You probably need them, too, and just don't know it. #music

@apLundell that was the person's point. But trying to compare that to allergy safety is so infuriating.
"Some kid can bring pertusis to school, but I can't bring peanuts?"
Holy #@%. What is wrong with people?
Now we're at the point of the power page when random things start beeping.
@Laurelai but what if my friends aren't very sharp... ba dum tss!
@Alisca is there anyone better than Allison Janney? Her portrayal of shock was spot on.
To be fair, there have also been discussions about doors being left open, inadequate communication, not enough police presence, and glass doors.
And nobody has recommended arming teachers...
School safety meeting. So far people have asked about drones, metal detectors, and why doors unlock in the event of a fire. I want to scream.
@quarktheawesome I was about to say #Xubuntu, but touch-centric puts a damper on things. Has anything #linux outside of Unity truly been touch-centric?
The great thing about randomly playing albums you bought last year is realizing that you love Julia Holter because she is amazing, not just because everybody told you to. #music

OK. Let's post cute cat videos like normal people do...
@catdad Just invested so much time on these whitelists, can't imagine switching. 😂
(I will actually check it out, thanks)
