Well, I've gotten over most of my nervousness about doing competitive Overwatch. On the minus side, I'm really bad from multi-month breaks.

I used to read SF/fantasy written mostly by white male writers. Now I only read works by non-men and/or PoC, with rare exceptions for some truly novel concept (Iain M. Banks is queued.)

I want perspectives more like my own, and the visibility of these works has increased; together, it changed my reading habits.

I also used to be very dismissive of romance novels, and here I am delighting in them.

Also, wow I'm glad I changed my account over to require approval of followers after some of my anti-capitalism/libertarian posts got popular.

It's a reminder that while Masto might generally be a great space, there'll be ick humans (or just tiring ones) anywhere you go. Those who evangelize Mastodon seem to forget the tolerance paradox sometimes, so I'm glad it has decent moderation/content control tools.

Cyclical depression means that I always know when I'm going to be depressed, but that doesn't really make it better. Since I know when my brain is going to go full asshole, I overcompensate and do ALL THE THINGS during the good times, to try and stave off the depression that much longer.

Like clockwork, really; a sub-cycle for cyclical hormonal issues.
