Mood has been better, so I've been cooking heavily to use up food/eat better. Some mixed results however - nutritional yeast is very strange in spinach dip.
For folks wanting to support arrestees - ppl who threw down and risked federal charges while blocking Portland's ICE facility, here is a donation link:

I am very skeptical / security conscious; this came directly from #OccupyICEpdx via facebook and I have worked personally w/ Portland ABC (Anarchist Black Cross). They do jail support and prisoner support work.
As much as you trust this account, trust that link. Please donate what you can.

The latest Supreme Court stuff is really getting me down.
@lobster_writer I like to keep a running list of recommended modules, adventures, one-shots, etc that people discuss using/liking, and then pull from them as the narrative requires.
So when I decided to rewrite this next piece entirely, I had something available that - while specifics weren't right - had the flavor, some NPCs, and maps I needed.
@lobster_writer That's wonderful! There's often such an emphasis on new-new-new, that people forget there's so many old gems out there deserving a little air.
Sat down and focused most of the day to get #DnD prep accomplished. I ended up rewriting the next 1-2 sessions of material, but I think we'll be better for it. Plus, I get to finally make good on intrigue...
Just remember kids, old D&D modules often have fantastic maps, descriptions, villains, unique monsters, etc that you can mine for material. For example, the original Dragonlance campaign has fantastic Dragon Lairs and traps.
I need like... One vacation day from Men's Bullshit and Unpaid Therapy. Get on it, life.
I feel immense pressure to perform thanks to variations on, "You're really smart, so solve our problems." Which led to a bit of an existential crisis, in addition to not really knowing what I, myself, want in life.
My answer has been, "to live quietly and contentedly" but people don't like that answer. We are all expected to constantly achieve and build careers, and I just want to get by, read books, and pet cats. No wonder I'm so distressed.
@Nurowyn You sweet-talker. :3
Went yard sale hunting today. Managed to find some lovely kimono at an estate sale, which are now airing out after decades of storage with some interesting scented moth repellent.
I am finally working toward my Soft Cybergoth Grandma style. Now I just need some good boots, a few belts, and maybe some raver pants for those amazing pockets.
Finished catching up with Saga (the comic.) I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it's a fun romp so far.
I've been down on myself today (the usual depression fuuuun) but I'm comforting myself with a reminder - my D&D players keep coming back.
That's pretty amazing: I'm doing a good enough job that people want to come back and spend another 4 hours with me.
Here is a very young Molly sitting on a CRT monitor, LIKE YOU DO when you're a cat.
The world sucks, have a picture of my cat/a cat sitting on luggage.

I was really looking forward to pickles, but my expected pickles did not arrive. Terrible misfortune.
Me, but with Mastodon
noir is a conservative genre that thinks that corruption can not be changed, only the heroes values can be conserved. But cyberpunk is a noir that believes that the corruption can be outwitted and undercut: by saving the self and the people you love, you are forcing the algorithms of your oppression to recognise your humanity. This is very unrealistic, but it is a hopeful genre of outsiders supplying change
