@jordyd They lived good lives, but both were very sad and unexpected losses. We currently have eight chickens on a full size urban lot, and they have free reign over the whole backyard. 2 australorps, 2 mixed (I think Rhode Island Red & Australorp), and 4 Easter Eggers.

This one is Cocoa on my friend's arm; she likes people the best after Flighty (who is the spoiled girl.)

@jordyd These are my first four chickens, black australorps, at a few weeks old about three years ago. I can go out and take more recent pics, though two of the original four have since passed. :\

@jordyd Too bad you don't live nearby, I could give you quite the backstory of my chickens and their eggs. Gelato and Flighty, in particular, are hilarious.

@jake Glad to help! I was realizing I need to spend some time priming/educating my more moderate in-laws and thought it might be a good reminder for others.

If you're in a state with any kind of decent mail-in ballot system, I highly recommend it. With a cup of coffee and two hours, and I'd extensively researched every candidate including "minor" but important positions like Assessor and District Attorney.

As a qualifier, this is mostly advice toward cis white folk/family.

PoC communities face a lot of voter disenfranchisement, so make sure everyone is registered to vote, go together to the polls, have required documentation/ID (fuck voter ID laws), and empower everyone to vote out all the racist garbage currently in power.

White folk, use your privilege to protect them at polls and call out racist poll workers. See Something Say Something (ACLU Justice App is great.)

If you have the spoons, start priming friends and family NOW: ensure they're registered to vote, understand the positions/stakes, vote socialist-Democrat in primaries, and for propositions that promote voting access.

If they're more conservative, it's best to focus (truthfully) on how Trump and the Republicans are selling America to the rich. Raising the minimum wage & higher wealth taxes work best as arguments dovetailed with their blatant corruption and self-serving platforms.

Doing better today. It helps that I finally realized, "Oh shit, this month has been nothing but awful stressful garbage. No wonder I'm breaking down." Being kind to yourself also means acknowledging your circumstances.

I'm doing a bit better, though I also found out I'm on the hook for around $4-5k because disclosure of true costs isn't a thing. At least I'm not shutting down from anxiety anymore.

Today is not a good day, so I'm eating a chocolate bar for lunch. It helps a little.

Lately I've been in a position of Imparting Sage Wisdom To The Younguns', and it's incredibly weird being reminded I was a fuckin' idiot of a 20 year old.

I sent an email wishing my mom a happy mother's day.

I continue to perform this minimal effort guilt-based obeisance despite a fraught relationship, because I so easily see how I could have become her without a support network and modern mental health resources and activism against stigmatization.

tldr; take care of yourselves everyone you're worth it you don't have to become your parents.

It's unexpectedly tiring to constantly come up with new #DnD descriptions of "you hit the thing and do damage."

Pillars of Eternity 2 comes out in about an hour. I'm pretty excited, to put it mildly.

Well, I'm now caught up (finally) with #criticalrole thanks to being stuck in bed. Unfortunately that means I need to find something to watch until Pillars 2 comes out on Tuesday.

Maybe D20 Babes (because Rat Queens yessssss) or Friends at the Table? Or I could finally catch back up on the new #AdventureZone arcs.
