I hate people who don't have compassion or empathy for others.
I've noticed there's a certain type of person who only helps close friends and family, often displaying misanthropy toward the world at large and assumes the worst of anyone not meeting their arbitrary standards, that I frankly hate with every fiber of my being.
It makes me incredibly upset when I meet these people.
@susannah By and large it seems to be a conservative phenomenon ("me and mine, fuck the rest") but isn't exclusive to. A lot of people fall into the trap of dividing an ever-smaller slice of pie rather than making the pie bigger and better for everyone (and thus you and your family.)
@thindol This is why I've started thinking that the role of government/nations should be to limit the number of people considered other in order to maximize redistribution from the rich to the rest.
@thindol my conservative relatives are like this and it's infuriating and heartbreaking
