I think ultimately I'd like my style to be "soft cybergoth grandma" but figuring out how that looks in an outfit has been tough.

I'm not sure how this should look either, but it absolutely needs a set of colorful artificial dreadlocks with one streak of white in the front.

Gosh, that would be exactly my aesthetic, too, if I ever put any care or thought into how I present myself.
@gcupc Yep, that's also part of my problem. But I have to buy clothes again, so I might as well keep this style in mind.
@thindol jeans and baggy black t-shirts is my usual outfit, fwiw
that plus a messenger or laptop bag large enough that it could double as a tardis, and it seems to get close
